Partner Pick: Magic Hugs-Saturday Hike

  • Share

Take a look at any accurate calendar and you’ll notice that today is Friday. And over here at Above Average, that means it’s Partner Pick day.

Magic Hugs is a California based funny-team and part of the Above Average Network. Their video “Saturday Hike” begs the question, “Does anyone really know anyone?” And also, “How many bones is too many bones?” Unfortunately, we’ll never know the answer to either of those questions.

Rejected Pitches: Pulp Fiction

  • Share

If only Quentin Tarantino would have listened to the Rejected Pitches team, the meandering Pulp Fiction would never have been made and instead Honey Bunny’s Funny Sunday would have taken home the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Now that sounds like a movie I’d go see!

Have any ideas for Honey Bunny’s Funny Sunday? Leave them in the comments below!

Belle & Bernice – Livin’ in the City : Test My Phone

  • Share

(This post should be read in a French accent)

There is beauty in Bernice’s desperation. She is a delicate flower, mistreated by her former lover and place of work. Although deeply wounded, she appears brave, brazen. Searching solace in her cellphone, she comes up short. She desires love, denying the possibility that perhaps she abandoned it all for a shot at glory in the big apple.

And sweet Belle. What is she to do? Her sisterly obligations remain intact although are incessantly tested. She is sweet…perhaps too sweet.

Is there not a bit of Belle AND Bernice inside of us all?

Portrait STUdio: O.A.R. and Daily Grace

  • Share

We have a “crazy” new episode of Portrait STUdio featuring O.A.R., also known as Marky Shark and the Funky Bunch, and Daily Grace.

If this episode was a “game of poker,” Mark, the lead singer of O.A.R., would be the one losing “it all” and Grace, playing the make-up artist, would be the one starting “a revolution” by becoming the new female lead singer of the band. Now, fans of Above Average, when I say “oh,” you say “ah,” and when I say “revolution,” you say “jah.” Got it? Good. You guys are the best.

This post is for the real O.A.R. fans.

Rejected Pitches: The Sixth Sense

  • Share

If “The Sixth Sense” hadn’t come out, the world would be a very different place.

For one thing, people would have never run around whispering “I see dead people” all the time.

We would have never known that Mischa Barton in her prime was actually way before The O.C.

And finally, we all would have known Haley Joel Osment as that kid in that random movie about lions.

Check out why it should have been rejected on the latest episode of Rejected Pitches! Catch up on the rest of the series here.

Locker Room Shenanigans

  • Share

Over here at Above Average HQ we don’t like to think about the locker room too much because it brings back some painful memories, like:

-       that time we hid in the locker room so that we didn’t have to do the pull-up contest

-       that time we hid in the locker room so that we didn’t have to climb the rope in gym class

-       that time we hid in the locker room so that… you get the point.

We can only imagine what goes down in the locker room when you’re actually good at sports or something like that.

Sammy Morris, former Patriots RB, breaks it down for us on the latest episode of Portrait STUdio. Catch up on the rest of the series here.

Wwwwwwelcome back to 102.5, the Above Average network. Ladies and gentlemen, we’re entering the last few days of summer. And I just have to say, wasn’t the weather outside today the best? And fall is right around the corner…isn’t that the best? I think so!

But you know what really is the best? The world.

Don’t take it from me, though. Coming up next on the Five O’Clock Rock Block is Harvard Sailing Team with their international hit “The World is the Best.”

And take a peek at all of our past Friday Partner Picks here.
