Donald Trump Jr. caused an uproar Monday after posting an offensive tweet comparing Syrian refugees to Skittles. “If I had a bowl of Skittles,” the post read, “and I told you just three would kill you, would you take a handful?” The tweet immediately raised concern among doctors across the country, who advised it would be wise to avoid trick-or-treating at Trump Jr.’s House this year.
“Donald Trump Jr.’s comment was not only offensive, but a threat to American children,” one doctor explained. “If he would make such a flippant remark about poisoning Skittles, who’s to say he wouldn’t give out tainted candy on Halloween?”
Despite the low odds of being poisoned by candy, experts say it’s safer to avoid it completely than take a dangerous risk.
“If you’re trick-or-treating in Donald Trump Jr.’s neighborhood this year,” the Doctor stressed, “just walk past his house and go to the next one. Even if he put out the cool decorations.”
