I used to work at a restaurant, so it’s really important to me to be a good customer. That’s why whenever I eat out, I like to write a little note on my receipt to brighten my server’s day. It’s just one of the many, many small selfless acts I perform on a daily basis.
So imagine how embarrassing it is to constantly see pictures of my receipts go viral! I mean, I don’t do this stuff for the attention. I’m just trying to be a good citizen.
Every day, I scroll through Buzzfeed to see if there’s been a listicle posted like “16 Receipt Notes That Will Restore Your Faith In Humanity” or “12 Notes Left On Receipts That Are Sweet AF.” Wouldn’t you know, every once in awhile, I see one of mine!
Sometimes, I’ll go for awhile without seeing any of my awesome receipt notes. In that case, I’ll make a point to stop at every diner within a 5 mile radius of my house, 3 or 4 times a day. It’s all about volume. Usually that gets me back on the internet rotation.
Anyway like I said, I don’t do it for the glory. I do it to change lives.
