As we head closer to Election Day in November, voters are starting to have to make some tough choices. Some voters are lining up behind Hillary Clinton and her decades of experience, whereas others see Donald Trump as the kind of radical change Washington needs.
As for me, I’m still trying to decide whether I should cast my vote for Green Party candidate Jill Stein or just share this paranoid anti-vaccine meme on Facebook instead.
It’s a tough choice. On the one hand, voting for Dr. Stein would be voting my conscience. There’s something to be said about staying principled and refusing to compromise your liberal ideals. On the other hand, there’s almost no chance Stein is going to win and by resharing this scary image of a needle that implies vaccines will give your children diseases, I know at least 15 people will see it. If I’m going to be pragmatic and realistic, I’d have to admit that sharing a crudely designed image would further my cause more than casting a vote for a candidate that’s barely polling outside the margin of error.
Some would argue that I could do both, but we all have to draw the line somewhere. So yeah, I’m just gonna post this meme directly on the walls of all my friends and relatives and hope they get the message. I love this country.
